Nymphing Class

Nymph Fishing Class

As much as we [shop staff] love chasing after fish with dry flies, it is a fact that fish will feed more often beneath the surface of the water than off the top. This two-session class is meant for those who have never tried nymphing, to the more experienced angler who is looking to have better results when nymphing out on the water.

The first session will be a two-hour evening session in the shop. We will discuss the different kinds of basic indicator nymphing rigs used, when and where it is best to use them, and how to rig them up. The second session will take place on a local river. Students will be shown how to rig up three basic and essential indicator nymphing rigs and will use these rigs in real time under the supervision of a friendly and competent instructor.

If you've been wanting to add another dimension to your fly-fishing skills, this is a class you won't want to miss out on. Sign-up soon! This class is sure to fill.

First Session: Meet up at Western Rivers at 6:15 PM. We will go over the essential gear needed to effectively nymph, discuss rigging options, essential knots, and go over the aquatic insects and other food items we fish subsurface.

Intro

As much as we [shop staff] love chasing after fish with dry flies, it is a fact that fish will feed more often beneath the surface of the water than off the top. Thus, learning how to simply and effectively fish a nymph is an essential skill that every angler should be able to do. This class is meant for those who have never tried nymphing, to the more experienced angler who is looking to have better results when nymphing out on the water.

This class consists of two sessions. The first class session will be a two hour evening session in the shop. We will discuss the different kinds of basic indicator nymphing rigs used, when and where it is best to use them, and how to rig them up. The second class session will take place on a local river. Students will be shown how to rig up three basic and essential indicator nymphing rigs, and will actually use these rigs in real time under the supervision of a friendly and competent instructor.
